The Lab Pathologist Assistant provides anatomic pathology services under the direction and supervision of a Pathologist. Assists in the preparation and performance of human surgical specimen dissection. Assists in the preparation and performance of human postmortem examination with subsequent dissection, submission of samples and dictation of gross findings.
Qualifications
Certifications: Pathologists' Assistant (PA) within 1 year - American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP),
Education: Certificate of Completion: Pathology Assistant, Work Experience:
Responsibilities
Preparation, gross description, and dissection of human tissue surgical specimens.Assisting with frozen section evaluation; performing gross examination, selection of tissue, cryotomy of specimen and subsequent staining for intraoperative evaluation by a Pathologist.Preparation and performance of human postmortem examinations.Preparation, gross description and dissection of human tissue surgical specimens. Compensation and Benefits
The compensation range for this position is $46.13per hour - $79.34per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
