Advanced Woudncare, Inc. in Lincolnwood, IL is looking for local jobseeker for the position of "Field Medical Assistant" to join our 27 person strong team. The Field Medical Assistant | Medical Scribe will help support the physician during patient examination. Will also follow-up with any administrative activities related to patient healthcare management.
Responsibilities
1. Assist Physician during patient examinations (record vitals, update medication list, change wound dressings, administer vaccines and /or any other procedures).
2. Clearly communicate, and/or translate treatment procedures, medications, diets, and physician’s instructions to patients.
3. Follow-through with Physicians’ orders on patient referrals and help schedule additional appointments with other consulting providers or specialists.
4. Obtain patient signature on HIPAA Notice of Privacy, consent for treatment per visit, release of medical records and keep the patient chart current with any new demographic changes.
5. Review patient schedule, route, and other related information essential to fulfilling a complete day of patient visits. (Verifies schedule in the morning and call patients to confirm.)
6. Assist with administrative duties such as updating patient charts, answering the phone, scheduling appointments, filing, faxing or e-mailing information to patients, and follow-up on referrals and orders generated.
7. Coordinate medical services with other healthcare provides (sending/receiving medical record, progress note, or other verbal/ written orders).
8. Notify Schedulers of all cancelled/rescheduled appointments and maintain proper documentation in EHR of detailed reasons as to why patient was not seen.
9. Inform Schedulers of any updates/changes in Patient’s address.
10. Perform inventory of medical equipment / supplies and give orders to proper manager.
11. Travel to the patient’s home in a safe and timely manner with all necessary medical supplies and needed documentation.
12. Report maintenance problems to the Director of Operations and fill gas as needed. (Keep vehicle clean and presentable at all time.)
13. Participate with team to deliver Patient Centered Care and Services.
14.Follow universal precautions to protect patients, self and others.
