Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
The Associate Attorney will manage cases from inception through the pre-trial phase. This role involves handling a wide range of litigation responsibilities and offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in trial preparation and courtroom proceedings.
Conduct client intakes and interviews
Maintain regular client communication
Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery documents
Take and defend depositions
Appear at court hearings
Manage pre-trial responsibilities
Assist in trial preparation, with opportunities to second or third chair trials
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school
Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar
Strong legal research and writing skills
Prior litigation experience preferred but not required
Demonstrated interest or passion for civil rights law
