Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
Must procure and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as a hard hat, gloves, and safety shoes when required.
Skills & Requirements
Core Responsibilities
Plan and install the DC powered network and optical equipment such as DWDM, router, DC distribution panel, and other associated telecommunication panels and cables.
Install and terminate equipment's DC power with appropriate lugs, insulations, lacing, and labelling.
Install and terminate equipment's communication cables using proper wire-wrapping method, lacing, and labelling.
Participate in the telecommunication circuit migration.
Performs site survey and quality inspection of work, adherence to installation scope of work and equipment manufacturer's specifications.
Complete and maintain hard copy and/or electronic records of work completed on various assignments. Including, but not limited to, splice diagrams, patch panels, As-Build, and test results.
Travel within the five boroughs of New York City, Westchester, Upstate NY and NJ, visit various job locations including substations, workout locations, and office buildings with varying access requirements to assist with infrastructure implementation and support activities.
Must be flexible and able to work off-hours as required to support deployments, resolve production problems or respond to corporate emergencies.
Perform other related tasks and assignments as required
Required Education/Experience
High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of (7) years of IT experience preferably in Telecommunication
Two (2)+ of experience in the Telecom industry in the installation of DC powered equipment, DC power cable, and telecommunication copper cable termination such as wire-wrapping method.
