Drive and operate concrete mixer truck to deliver concrete as directed, checking concrete for quality before leaving the plant and during the placement at the project site, always maintaining courteous public and customer relations. Works under the direction of dispatchers, batch plant operators. Must have a CDL A/B License or CDL Permit in good standing and a valid DOT medical certificate.
Receive batched load of concrete materials from a batch plant, checks load for conformance with sales invoice on aggregate type and size, proper slump and load size and make delivery as directed.
Check size of load and determine correct hydraulic pressure setting on Booster Axle for proper load distribution and safety Reports any unsafe work site condition
Ensure good customer relations. Collect payment for materials when required. Must be able to communicate effectively with customers. Assist other drivers at the job site and plant when necessary.
Maneuver truck into loading or unloading positions, by following all best practices to include identifying all hazards and communicating with spotter. Loading and unloading chutes to distribute concrete while walking over a variety of terrain.
Perform daily DOT pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Check vehicle to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order. Responsible for the maintaining truck cleanliness and basic truck maintenance.
Set up and inspect equipment prior to operation. Service and/or help with repairs as needed. Clean up around plant as needed. Help striping and pouring concrete blocks.
Responsible for the documentation of material delivered. Maintain logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations. Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
