POSITION SUMMARY:

We are looking for a dedicated and dynamic Psychiatric Physician Assistant to join our Behavioral Health Urgent Care team for a part-time night shift position.

Initially, the chosen candidate will undergo training during daytime hours, working three 8-hour shifts, 24 hours per week from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. After the training period, this position will move to two 12-hr shifts, 24 hours a week, working 7:00 pm - 7:30 am.

In addition to the $3,750 signing bonus, this position will also receive an 8% premium for working third shift.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer or designee, performs evaluations, diagnoses, ongoing assessments, and treatment of individuals with severe and persistent mental illness, serious emotional disturbance, and/or developmental disabilities. Identifies client needs, makes treatment plans and referrals, and provides medication management and psycho-educational support in collaboration with existing medical staff and program; performs related work as required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Educational Requirements - License Requirements

Master's degree. Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program - Fully licensed in the State of Michigan as a Physician Assistant, has Michigan Controlled Substance License, Current NCCPA certification.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a valid Michigan driver's license, current automobile insurance, and the use of a vehicle during work hours.

PREFERENCES:

Three (3) years' experience working as a Certified Physician Assistant AND three (3) years clinical experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and/or developmental disabilities, including assessment, medication management, and crisis intervention in the outpatient or inpatient setting.

Experience working as a certified Physician Assistant in collaboration with a psychiatrist.

Essential Physical Demands:

• Vision – Position requires the ability to visually assess details at both near and far distances, as well as to perceive depth and spatial relationships with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Hearing – Position requires the ability to receive and respond to verbal communication with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Lifting, Standing, and Walking With or Without Reasonable Accommodations:
• Position requires the ability to lift up to 50lbs on an occasional basis
• Position requires the ability to regularly stand for extended periods of time
• Position requires the ability to walk at a minimum of 35% up to a maximum of 65%
• Position will require the ability to occasionally stoop, bend, or reach to perform work tasks with or without reasonable accommodation
• Position must be able to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, including the use of hands and fingers for handling, grasping, typing, writing, or operating equipment with or without reasonable accommodation.
