HCA Healthcare is seeking a skilled PRN RN for our Emergency Room team within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. As a PRN ER Registered Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered emergency care in a fast-paced, high-acuity hospital environment. You will care for patients across the lifespan, from pediatric to geriatric, presenting with a wide variety of urgent and emergent conditions. In this role, you will perform rapid and thorough patient assessments, triage incoming patients based on acuity, and prioritize care needs according to established emergency department protocols. You will initiate and manage IV lines, administer medications and therapies safely and accurately, and closely monitor patients for changes in condition, responding quickly and effectively to signs of deterioration. You will support and participate in emergency procedures, including cardiac arrests, rapid responses, trauma activations, stroke alerts, and other time-sensitive emergencies, adhering to ACLS, PALS, and other relevant clinical guidelines. Working collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and an interdisciplinary care team, you will help develop and implement individualized care plans that uphold HCA Healthcare’s commitment to compassionate, evidence-based practice. You will operate and monitor emergency equipment such as cardiac monitors, defibrillators, ventilators, and infusion pumps, ensuring safe and appropriate use. Accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record and clear communication with patients, families, and colleagues will be essential parts of your daily responsibilities. You will provide education and emotional support to patients and their families, explaining diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions in a way that promotes understanding and safe transitions to home or other care settings. As part of HCA Healthcare’s culture of compassion, teamwork, and learning, you will participate in ongoing professional development, quality initiatives, and safety efforts to continuously improve the patient experience and clinical outcomes. This PRN position offers flexibility to work varying shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, to support departmental staffing needs. In return, HCA Healthcare offers the opportunity to work within a leading healthcare organization known for its innovation, integrity, and patient-centered care, providing you with access to robust training resources, diverse career pathways, and the ability to make a meaningful impact on the communities we serve. Employees may be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package that can include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement savings options such as a 401(k), and access to professional development programs aligned with your career growth.
