  Schedule: Approximately 3 days per week

  Hours: Flexible; household needs generally fall between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM
Compensation: $45–$50 per hour, depending on experience

A private family in Scarsdale, NY is seeking a reliable, proactive, and independent Private Chef / Cook to assist with weekly meal preparation for a family of four. The family includes two adults, two children ages 10 and 12, and one small hypoallergenic Bernedoodle.

The ideal candidate may either cook in the home or prepare meals off-site and deliver them to the home. The goal is to have meals prepared approximately three times per week, with each visit providing enough food for two to three days.

Main Work Duties:

• Prepare family meals approximately 3 days per week.
• Cook in the home or prepare meals off-site and deliver to the residence.
• Prepare enough food per visit to cover 2–3 days of meals.
• Plan simple, healthy, family-friendly meals based on the family’s preferences.
• Prepare meals suitable for adults and children ages 10 and 12.
• Assist with meal planning and grocery lists as needed.
• Shop for ingredients if requested.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen while cooking in the home.
• Label, package, and store meals properly for easy reheating and serving.
• Follow household preferences, dietary needs, and food storage guidelines.

• Able to work independently without needing constant direction.
• Proactive and comfortable taking initiative.
• Strong meal-planning and organizational skills.
• Comfortable preparing several days’ worth of meals at one time.
• Able to think ahead and anticipate household needs.
• Flexible and easy to communicate with.
• Comfortable working around a small dog.
• Respectful, discreet, and service-oriented.
• Strong English communication skills.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3+ solid years of chef experience working in a private home.
• Excellent references from both current and previous employers.
• Ability to work independently.
• Must speak and be able to communicate well in English.
• Authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
• Valid Driver's license and clean driving record.
