Position Purpose Lead and manage complex, sensitive, high‑impact internal investigations across the organization. Serve as a strategic advisor and subject‑matter expert on investigative best practices, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation. Apply exceptional judgment and discretion to influence senior leadership while ensuring adherence to federal and state regulations, internal policies, and ethical standards. Responsibilities Consult with management, in‑house counsel, and the Director of Corporate Compliance to resolve difficult, highly sensitive or complex compliance issues. Independently evaluate allegations to determine whether domestic laws, regulatory policies, or internal policies have been violated. Plan, scope, and conduct complex, confidential internal investigations from inception to conclusion, including strategy, evidence preservation, interviews, record analysis, root‑cause analysis, and recommended corrective actions. Conduct and document interviews with witnesses. Review investigation reports prepared by junior investigators. Identify risks, interpret results, and recommend and communicate remedial actions to mitigate future risks. Follow up to ensure remedial/disciplinary measures are implemented appropriately and timely. Plan, develop, lead, and manage multiple projects, prioritizing through execution. Maintain meticulous case files and chronologies per best practices. Prepare clear, concise draft investigation plans and reports. Provide support and guidance to junior investigation staff. Attend and lead meetings with various business area managers. Communicate directly with federal or state regulators. Support the development and maintenance of corporate compliance policies, procedures, and workflows. Lead special projects such as auditing, training, and HIPAA compliance. Provide support and guidance to other associates. Perform other duties as assigned. Comply with all policies and standards. Education / Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Law, Healthcare Administration/Health Policy, or related field (equivalent experience acceptable). Juris Doctorate highly preferred. 7+ years progressive experience conducting and managing complex investigations or audit and risk analysis. 7+ years experience reading, analyzing, and interpreting state and federal laws, rules, and regulations. Prosecutorial experience preferred. Previous experience as an investigator within a large corporation or federal agency preferred. Licenses / Certifications Certified Fraud Investigator preferred. Compensation Pay Range: $107,700.00 – $199,300.00 per year.
