We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fiber Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of fiber optic cabling systems in commercial environments. This role requires attention to detail, strong technical ability, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Responsibilities:

• Install, splice, terminate, and test fiber optic cables in commercial and/or industrial environments
• Perform fiber testing using OTDR, power meters, and light source equipment
• Read and interpret blueprints, floorplans, and technical drawings
• Troubleshoot fiber network issues and perform necessary repairs
• Install and maintain structured cabling systems as needed (Cat5e, Cat6, etc.)
• Properly label, dress, and organize fiber and data cabling
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and industry best practices
• Work collaboratively with project managers and other technicians to complete jobs on schedule
• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Fiber Technician or in structured cabling required
• Knowledge of fiber optic installation, splicing, and testing procedures
• Experience using fiber testing equipment (OTDR, power meter, VFL)
• Ability to read construction drawings and network diagrams
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in commercial construction environments (ladders, lifts, ceilings, etc.)
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

• BICSI, FOA, or similar certifications
• Experience with low-voltage systems (security, access control, or networking)
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
