Fiber Technician

Location: Norfolk, VA

Remote/On-Site: Onsite

Duration: Long Term Contract

Pay: $26.03 + $5.09/hr SCA

Requirements:

• Ability to hold and maintain clearance
• 1-2 years Fiber Optic Experience
• Experience w/ Fiber Optic tools
• CompTIA Security+
• CCST certification (willing to get within 6 months if not already held)

Job Description:

• Operate tools and equipment (including all necessary protective equipment) required to install, repair, and maintain copper and fiber optic cabling, associated media, and related infrastructure Experience with Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) and Electronic Industries Alliance (EIA) standards
• Troubleshooting and repairing cable system infrastructure
• ISP - Responsible for making sure you can access the Internet, routing Internet traffic, resolving domain names, and maintaining the network infrastructure that makes Internet access possible
• OSP - Responsible for the design, planning, and implementation of outside plant infrastructure for telecommunications systems
