What You’ll Do Ensure Tesla’s adherence to all federal, state, and local environmental regulations, including recordkeeping, compliance evaluations, air emissions reporting, and coordinating air emission source testing with stakeholders (as necessary). Identify, assess, and manage environmental/compliance risks by monitoring changes in laws, rules, and regulations. Utilize Management of Change (MOC) and tracking tools to address new and ongoing projects. Oversee the application and permitting process for new projects as assigned. Support audits and respond to inquiries from federal, state, and local regulatory agencies. Assist in planning for changes in physical facilities, review new or modified equipment and programs to ensure compliance with regulations and company policies, and recommend corrective actions to responsible parties as needed. Conduct incident analyses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions. Develop, track, report, and manage Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions. What You’ll Bring Bachelor’s degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in NSR and Title V permitting and compliance tasks, as well as managing regulatory/agency inspections or equivalent experience. Strong knowledge of air quality laws (CAA, CEQA, NEPA, etc.), regulations, and standards, including federal NESHAP/MACT/NSPS requirements for automobile manufacturing and refinish facilities (a plus). Proven ability to understand various chemical and physical manufacturing processes and create accurate emission inventories for air emissions reports and permit applications. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects with rapidly changing demands and priorities. Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact with production staff, engineers, legal teams, technical specialists, and management in a multidisciplinary, global setting.
