Job Description The Carrier Sales Representative is responsible for sourcing and managing carrier capacity, negotiating rates, and ensuring successful execution of freight shipments while delivering a high level of service to both customers and carriers.
Responsibilities Include - Negotiating rates with carriers and customers to secure profitable freight movement
- Managing load boards and matching freight with appropriate carrier capacity
- Building and maintaining long term carrier relationships
- Preparing and presenting competitive freight quotes
- Prioritizing tasks and making decisions in a fast paced, high volume environment
- Providing consistent communication and service throughout the shipment lifecycle
- Supporting temperature controlled and general freight shipments, primarily within food and beverage supply chains
Qualifications Required - Minimum of two years of experience in carrier sales, freight brokerage, logistics, or a related sales role, or a Bachelor’s degree
- Experience with cold calling and outbound sales activities
- Strong negotiation, closing, and relationship building skills
- Ability to perform in a performance driven, fast paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem solving skills with a results focused mindset
Preferred - Experience in freight brokerage or third party logistics environments
- Experience with temperature controlled freight
- Experience supporting food and beverage customers
- Previous logistics sales experience with the ability to ramp up quickly and contribute immediately
