Bondi Partners is seeking an Associate, Government Relations to join our fast-growing strategic advisory and advocacy firm at the critical intersection of policy, politics, and the private sector. Founded by the former Australian Ambassador to the United States and Australian Treasurer, and headquartered in Washington D.C and Sydney, Bondi Partners is primarily focused on supporting and strengthening commercial relationships across the U.S., Australia, the U.K. and Japan. Associates work closely with and provide support to Directors and Partners, while also regularly interacting directly with consulting and advocacy clients and helping to manage project objectives, milestones, and deadlines. As a member of our Government Relations team, this Associate will help execute strategies that affirmatively shape the policies and politics affecting our clients' business objectives. To be successful in this role, you should be proactive, able to manage multiple competing priorities, and be adept at managing both upwards and downwards to keep client work and research on track. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential to all aspects of the role. While all of our staff work across multiple clients, projects, and sectors, we are specifically seeking an individual with experience and relationships in Congress and/or the Executive Branch. Note that this position will require registration as a lobbyist. Responsibilities Legislative Analysis: Provide analysis of, and recommendations related to, Congressional legislation and Executive Branch actions to support clients’ strategic planning. Policy Monitoring: Track, synthesize, and share news and policy developments at the federal and state level. Provide analysis, recommendations, and feedback on complex international and domestic issues, regulations, policies, and trends that pertain to clients. Stakeholder Engagement: Establish and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders and decision makers including elected officials, their staff, key officials, thought leaders, industry associations, and other public policy stakeholders, regardless of their political affiliation. Client Support: Assist in preparing and presenting client-facing reports, briefings, and research materials that synthesize complex international and domestic issues. Attend meetings with government officials on behalf of clients to advocate for their priorities. Project Management: Help manage project objectives, milestones, and deadlines while interacting directly with advocacy clients. Firm Growth: Contribute to core firm activities, including business development support and pitching content for our newsletter and social platforms. Logistical Support: Coordinate meetings and events, including embassy events and stakeholder conferences, and provide background materials for firm principals. Work closely and collaboratively with other team members to ensure client development, project management, and analysis is cohesive and comprehensive. Qualifications Experience: 2–4 years of professional experience required. A minimum of 2 years of experience working in Congress is preferred for this position; equivalent experience in the Executive Branch will be considered. Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Location: Must be located in the Washington, D.C. area and authorized to work in the United States. Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential; experience in public policy writing is preferred. Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities and manage both "upwards and downwards" to keep research on track.
